About The Artist
Kelly Chapin Hagen
My work is a journey inward—an ongoing process of self-discovery through form, material, and ritual. Drawing from personal experience, memory, and transformation, I use clay to explore themes of identity, impermanence, and growth. Each piece is a reflection of questions I carry, stories I’ve lived, and truths I continue to uncover.
Originally from Sedalia, Missouri, I began my path with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from UCM in Warrensburg. For over 20 years, I’ve taught elementary art, nurturing creativity in others while deepening my own. Now finishing an MFA in Ceramics from Fort Hays University, I stand at the threshold of a new chapter—one of travel, exploration, and full devotion to my practice. Through this evolving body of work, I seek not only to make art but to become through it—unearthing, exposing, and embracing who I am, one piece at a time.
